Where the fixtures go

Fixture placement is a rough-in decision, which means it is free to get right now and expensive to change once the valve is buried and the tile is set.

  • Controls near the entry, so the water can be started and adjusted without standing in the spray.
  • Shower head high enough for the tallest user — this is routinely set too low and cannot be raised later without opening the wall.
  • A hand shower bracket at a reachable height for the shortest user, and useful for cleaning the shower itself.
